Mike is:

A  husband, a father, a reader, a thinker, an agitator, and a questioner, though he finds his questions can frustrate other’s tidy view of the world.  As a recovered victim of evangelical and neo-con indoctrination and former house churcher, he is now just a guy trying to help others realize another way is possible and that it is ok to leave the mainstream church setting.

Currently, he is a college admissions counselor and grad student and can be reached at mike@subversivechurch.com.

Chris is:

A 26 year-old artist from Fairmont, WV. He has a wonderful wife named Brandi who, through love and understanding, often serves to keep him from being institutionalized. He enjoys tattoos, coffee, Dio, and sleeping in the streets. Chris spends his time congregating with shady characters (Mike) in shady places. He is a mouthy little bastard but he knows when to shut his trap and listen (some of the time). I should also add that I am very open to hearing criticism or discussion, regardless of whether you agree or disagree, If you have something to say or just want to talk here’s my number 1.304.694.0013 chris@subversivechurch.com

Dan is:

A 30+ year old who lives in the snowiest city in the US, and loves it. He plays rugby as a means to appease his love and devotion to Fight Club (the book not the movie). He is married to Kim who continually understands and helps to fix his wounds whether they be physical or psychological. Dan is a former pastor and current director of a homeless shelter. Most the time he enjoys people and finds the excellence of God in mountains, dogs, and stretch armstrong albums, but mostly rituals of life. Cell phones are so passe, please send any correspondence through carrier pigeons or email, remember pigeons do not fly well in the snow.  dan@subversivechurch.com.

And there will be others who will join in and there will be those that life takes in a different direction. This isn’t about membership or who attends where. This is about community, intentional and supportive. Everyone has something unique to bring into the group dynamic, though learning when it is needed and when it is someone else’s time is key.
