This blog has been a strain on several of my relationships, both friend and family.  However, as Tiler&#039;s murder brings into vivid focus, it is absolutely necessary to break with these self-appointed spokespeople.

I know that I get sick of hearing time and again that X person &quot;doesn&#039;t speak for me.&quot;  Okay, I&#039;ll grant that Fred Phelps doesn&#039;t speak for the Christian community as a whole.  But Dobson?  Robertson?  C&#039;mon.  These guys absolutely DO speak for the Christian community.  And as long as they do, it&#039;s going to continue to reflect negatively on Jesus -- because I&#039;m pretty sure they don&#039;t speak for HIM so much.</description>
